Glass Hands Collection

Handcrafted in NYC

Josh, the team, and I were still riding the excitement of having our Spike Bag featured at Bergdorf Goodman last spring when we started brainstorming our next creative project together. Around that time, I had become fascinated by bonsai trees—the way they bring a sense of calm and life into a space. I remember asking Josh if it was possible to blow molten glass into the shape of a bonsai tree. It was an ambitious idea, but the thought of a sculptural object that could display and hold jewelry felt exciting.

A few months later, Josh called after finishing a residency where he had been experimenting with new techniques. Seconds after our call, he sent over a photo: a miniature, marbled glass hand he had blown. The moment we saw it, the direction became clear. It captured everything we were looking for—a sculptural form that could hold jewelry while standing beautifully on its own. From there, the concept evolved into something even more meaningful. At Víya, our name represents a light breeze—an experience that feels effortless, calm, and grounding. That philosophy guided the color palette of this collection. Inspired by the natural world—the soft shifting hues of the sky, the tones of the earth, and the quiet moments that bring a sense of peace.

Each piece is hand-sculpted by Josh, layering different shades of molten glass to create smooth, natural gradients, and finished with delicate touches of Murano glass he crafted himself. The result is a set of ten luminous hands—ranging from midnight blue and smoky grey to crimson red, pale pink, and sea-glass blue.

We hope these hands bring the same sense of calm, beauty, and artistry to your space that they brought to us during their creation. Thank you, Josh, for helping bring this dream to life.
